My parents returned from Warsaw on the 8th with many testimonies of the Lord’s continued work in the lives of the refugees. During their stay in the hotel my dad led a Bible study with many people who had never heard the gospel explained in detail before. There were a group of 5 to 6 individuals who after hearing the Gospel clearly presented, wanted to learn more. They continued to meet with my dad and began to read the Bible and pray regularly. One lady specifically, Tatyana shared that she could not go a day without reading her bible. They acknowledged their sin and understood the Gospel. Please pray for that the Lord works in their hearts as they move on to different parts of this world.

Also be praying for two young kids, David(13) and Daniel(12). They got to know my dad during his stay there. Dad bribed them into reading the bible to know more about the Daniel and David of the bible. When they first started reading they did it only to get the little gifts promised by my dad. After reading several chapters both David and Daniel got really excited and burned through the rest of the stories on their own.

We were able to raise over 10K dollars in The Hope for Ukraine fund. Most of this money was used to buy tickets for the volunteers that we are sending to work in the hotel. All of the people we are sending are Christians who speak both Russian and English and are able to serve the people there but mainly to preach the Gospel to them.

Finally be praying for Mason. Many of you have met him, He has been visiting LFBC for some time now. He will be flying out the 29th and will be spending 12 days serving in the hotel. Pray his time there is a blessing to our admin team and the refugees. Make sure to encourage Mason and let him know you will be praying for him.

The Lord continues to provide!

http://www.livingfaithbc.net/hope-for-ukraine/the-lord-continues-to-provide

http://www.livingfaithbc.net/hope-for-ukraine/the-lord-continues-to-provide#comments

Uncategorized

Good Afternoon Everyone,The Lord continues to work in Warsaw. The CEO of that Bank just committed to paying for another full month of rooms, extending our work through at least the end of August. Our brother, Mr A, is absolutely crushing it as the admin of the hotel. He has already implemented changes that are continuing to allow this ministry to be effective and efficient. One of the issues that we have been trying to resolve is housing for him and his family. Yesterday the director of OSHU offered to help support Mr A financially in addition to the current support we are giving him. The amount he offered covers the house that a realtor found that was one of the only options big enough to house Mr A, his family and the other 7 people (also refugees) that Mr A is caring for. Please continue to pray that the Lord sends volunteers who love the lord, speak english and Russian and have a heart to serve people. There have been several who have come through that were a huge blessing. Pray the Lord sends more. We specifically need people to fill dates in mid June and Early July. Pray for many of the refugees who have already left the hotel. More and more people have been able to hear the gospel and be served by our brothers and sisters who have gone to volunteer in Poland. Mr. A. has begun full time work in the hotel. This is a huge blessing. His skills as an administrator are coming through and the hotel is finally starting to operate in a smooth and efficient manner.

Through various connections that have been made with the government programs in Warsaw, we are able to send many of the refugees to permanent housing locations in Warsaw. In these locations, the refugees are provided with meals, counselors, doctors and general help. In order to take advantage of these connections the hotel will now function slightly differently. Instead of offering housing for 4 weeks with the possibility of extensions the refugees are moved into the permanent housing as soon as positions open up. Please pray that we can make good connections with the directors of the government housing programs so we may continue to serve the refugees as they move into those locations.

We have also been able to partner with a christian doctor form California. She has started a non-profit to supply medical supplies and care for civilians and soldiers in Ukraine. She has several doctors that would like to come help in Poland. There is a potential to have an on-site doctor and or nurse at the hotel. Please pray for this effort. The local church we are working with is continuing serve and help where they can. Mister A will also be working with the local pastor to help build and strengthen the church. Please pray for both of these men. My desire to to come along side Mister A to help this church. It is becoming clear that this is the direction we are to work towards. Please continue to pray that the Lord saves many who have heard the gospel through these efforts.

Follow up from Poland

http://www.livingfaithbc.net/hope-for-ukraine/follow-up-from-poland

http://www.livingfaithbc.net/hope-for-ukraine/follow-up-from-poland#comments

Uncategorized

Thank you everyone for your prayers. This one is the most exiting one. I meet with Mr. A on Friday the day I landed in Poland. I explained the need in Warsaw and how he would be able to help. Mr. A grew up in America and moved to Ukraine several years ago to work with a church there. When the war started he and his family fled to Poland. God has blessed Mr. A with many gifts which would make him perfect for the work in the hotel. After our meeting he said he needed more clarity form the Lord and would get back to me as he had lots of different ministries and churches asking for him to come work with them. Today I got a call from him saying that he agrees to move his family to Warsaw and to work at the hotel. The cool thing is, his pastor who had no idea we were asking him to come called him and suggested he come to Warsaw and help Pastor A.

It really does seem like God is pulling different people from all over to use for His glory in Warsaw. When I shared about my trip to Poland, I spoke about how things continually evolved when we arrived here last time. The rates I was getting back were higher than expected and the bigger problem was the availability was not there. A mid-June start date seemed to be more difficult. I called Mr. G (OSHU) to discuss flights for some of the volunteers. Remember our agreement with him was to help run his organization until the end of June. We then spoke about what to do past June with the existing hotel. OSHU has continued to raise more and more financial support. They have enough funds to extend the current rooms through July. I proposed that we, as a church would run the Hotel as we saw fit while they payed for the rooms. He quickly agreed to this. At their latest meeting with the support they are receiving it seemed possible to let this run for the foreseeable future. This allows us to spend the money that we have raised to pay for the tickets of the volunteers that we send, but more importantly to use that money to plant a church.

Please pray for the following things:

Continued wisdom in how to operate the hotel

God would send volunteers who love the Lord and desire to serve people at the Hotel

Pastor A and his work load

Mr J. - he is one of the members of the core group who will be working with the church plant. He plans to move his family to Warsaw.

Mr. I. - Pray the lord makes it clear where he wants him to be in Poland. We really need someone who can handle the admin side of things on the ground here in Warsaw. He is very capable and would be great to have him on board.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.

Pastor Daniel

Our Mission

http://www.livingfaithbc.net/hope-for-ukraine/our-mission

http://www.livingfaithbc.net/hope-for-ukraine/our-mission#comments

Uncategorized

The war in Ukraine has displaced millions of people, especially women and children. The refugees that have had the ability to live in a hotel instead of the expo center have been significantly more successful in landing jobs and finding housing. The beauty of providing for the physical needs of these people is the ability to share the Gospel with them. Through the darkest times we can point them to Christ. He alone can provide hope, peace, and comfort despite complete despair.

LFBC believes that the Lord works through the local church to bring about his purposes. The fundamental goal of LFBC is to assist in the planting of a church in Warsaw for the Ukrainian people. Prior to the war there was already a very large population of Ukrainians living in Warsaw. The need for a biblical church has only deepened as more Ukrainians have made Warsaw their home.
