Distinctives of a Living Faith Education

Children are a gift from the Lord. All children deserve a rich and generous education from the very start. As Parents and Educators our duty is to bring the children up "in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ." Our mission at Living Faith is to introduce the children to the Grand Designer and Creator of all we see.  We encourage the children to understand every good comes from Him and we strive to instill a sense of wonder for all creation. Our relationship to our Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son is the pivotal point of our curriculum.

Living Ideas Nourish the Mind

“Lessons should be enjoyable ; they should enhance the individual and give him the ability he needs for life” (Charlotte Mason in School Education)

  • God-centered Christian Worldview

Of Him, through Him and to Him are all things made. Children learn that God made the world and everything in it and they learn to recognize and praise God for all He has created. God’s redemptive story can be understood by young minds. Children learn of our Heavenly Father and His truth through daily Bible read alouds and Scripture memorization through songs and poems.

 

  • Outdoors

O LORD, our Lord,
       how majestic is your name in all the earth!
       You have set your glory

Ample time outdoors is a vital component of our curriculum. Children require plenty of fresh air and sunshine in order to thrive. Time spent out of doors offers exposure to the beauty of God’s creation. Exploring the natural world around us children learn to recognize the majesty of our Creator.

 

  • Habits

Good habits instilled in early life do well to serve the child for a lifetime.  The three main categories of early habit training at Living Faith Preschool are:  physical (i.e.:  washing hands before eating and after bathroom), moral (i.e.:  courtesy, kindness, patience, thankfulness, truthfulness), spiritual (i.e.:  daily bible reading, memory verse, prayer, worship).  These habits are demonstrated by caring teachers and practiced with grace. 

      

  • Living Books and Ideas

    Living Ideas come from Living Books which are written by passionate, knowledgeable authors in literary         language.  These ideas demonstrate and produce noble ideas and transform thought patterns.  Other mediums than books  such as artist/picture study and composer/hymn study are used to convey life giving ideas. Children further learn appreciation for beauty through exposure with these great artists, musicians/composers and poets throughout history. Children form relationships with a wide variety of praise-worthy ideas.

Programs and Tuition

Living Faith is happy to offer several options to suit the needs of your family.

Registration Fee: $65.00 Annual, non-refundable, non-transferable

Families will receive a Parent Handbook outlining all school policies and procedures.

Preschool Half Day Programs

    2 days per week: $90.00 per month

    3 days per week: $125.00 per month

    5 days per week: $195.00 per month

  • Classes are open to children ages 2-4 on or before August 31.
  • Classes begin promptly at 9:00 A.M. and conclude at 1:00 P.M.

Educational Philosophy

Our Foundational Philosophy may be found in the LFBC Statement of Faith. As an expression of our Statement of Faith we implement Charlotte Mason's Educational Principles.

      1. Children are Born Persons

       

      All children are created in the image of God capable of digesting real knowledge which is served in a rich feast of living ideas allowing the learner to discover and explore many  interesting concepts.

       

      2. Education is an Atmosphere

       

    Learners explore living, truthful ideas in a natural learning environment. Teachers nurture and guide the child to discover and explore the world in which they live. The classroom is an extension of the home and is designed to be a comfortable inviting space. Many real life enrichment activities are incorporated into the classroom. Families are encouraged and welcomed to participate in all aspects of the classroom. Partnership and open communication between the home and school is vital for the success and security of your student.

     

      3. Education is a Discipline

       

    Good habits are the tools of the Parent and Educator. Once instilled they may enable the learner to grow. Good habits are modeled by the teachers and practiced with loving grace to lay down a strong foundation upon which children will develop a love of learning throughout their lives. Habit training includes but is not limited to: Attention, Obedience, Truthfulness, Thankfulness, Patience, Best Effort, etc. Individual attention is given to each learner based upon need.

     

      4. Education is a Life

       

    The life of the mind feed upon ideas. Therefore only the best ideas are presented before the children. We recognize the child's innate ability to ingest knowledge proper and fitting to his or her development. We recognize that all truth and knowledge come from God through the teaching of the Holy Spirit.

     

      5. Education is a Science of Relations

       

    When a broad and generous feast of good and noble ideas is presented, the learner will naturally form relationships with the new discoveries he or she explores. This relationship will provide validation of the child's first-born, God-given, natural affinities. Through the teaching of the Holy Spirit the child will be led into Truth.
