Hello everyone! My parents returned from Warsaw on the 8th with many testimonies of the Lord’s continued work in the lives of the refugees. During their stay in the hotel my dad led a Bible study with many people who had never heard the gospel explained in detail before. There were a group of 5 to 6 individuals who after hearing the Gospel clearly presented, wanted to learn more. They continued to meet with my dad and began to read the Bible and pray regularly. One lady specifically, Tatyana shared that she could not go a day without reading her bible. They acknowledged their sin and understood the Gospel. Please pray for that the Lord works in their hearts as they move on to different parts of this world.
Also be praying for two young kids, David(13) and Daniel(12). They got to know my dad during his stay there. Dad bribed them into reading the bible to know more about the Daniel and David of the bible. When they first started reading they did it only to get the little gifts promised by my dad. After reading several chapters both David and Daniel got really excited and burned through the rest of the stories on their own. We were able to raise over 10K dollars in The Hope for Ukraine fund. Most of this money was used to buy tickets for the volunteers that we are sending to work in the hotel. All of the people we are sending are Christians who speak both Russian and English and are able to serve the people there but mainly to preach the Gospel to them. Finally be praying for Mason. Many of you have met him, He has been visiting LFBC for some time now. He will be flying out the 29th and will be spending 12 days serving in the hotel. Pray his time there is a blessing to our admin team and the refugees. Make sure to encourage Mason and let him know you will be praying for him.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
The Lord continues to work in Warsaw. I know I say that every update but I have no idea how else to say it. May all credit and glory go only to him. A few weeks ago several volunteers from a bank in NE went to Volunteer at the hotel. The CEO of that Bank just committed to paying for another full month of rooms, extending our work through at least the end of August. Our brother, Mr A, is absolutely crushing it as the admin of the hotel. He has already implemented changes that are continuing to allow this ministry to be effective and efficient. One of the issues that we have been trying to resolve is housing for him and his family. Yesterday the director of OSHU offered to help support Mr A financially in addition to the current support we are giving him. The amount he offered covers the house that a realtor found that was one of the only options big enough to house Mr A, his family and the other 7 people (also refugees) that Mr A is caring for. Please continue to pray that the Lord sends volunteers who love the lord, speak english and Russian and have a heart to serve people. There have been several who have come through that were a huge blessing. Pray the Lord sends more. We specifically need people to fill dates in mid June and Early July. Pray for many of the refugees who have already left the hotel. Pray the seeds that were planted would grow and they be saved. Thank you all for your support of this ministry. It is a grace and blessing to see how God has chosen to work in Warsaw. More and more people have been able to hear the gospel and be served by our brothers and sisters who have gone to volunteer in Poland. Mr. A. has begun full time work in the hotel. This is a huge blessing. His skills as an administrator are coming through and the hotel is finally starting to operate in a smooth and efficient manner.

Pastor Daniel GusevPastor Daniel was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1991. His family migrated to California, following his father’s parents who had arrived several years prior. Currently, Daniel has a Grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins still in Ukraine. Some have been able to make it out and are currently in Poland. Others had to stay in Ukraine because they are men who are of fighting age. Pastor Daniel connected with an organization called Operation Safe Harbor Ukraine based out of Lincoln, NE; it was this organization that had the idea of renting out hotel rooms to house refugees. Daniel had the opportunity to go to Poland last month and be a part of OSHU. During his visit, he helped build the structure and operations of the organization. Coming back after that trip, he realized that there was a way to be more effective for Christ by replicating the same process through the Church. ArchivesCategories |
