Men's Ministry
Our men’s ministry began with the desire of reaching the men with Scripture in order to build godly relationships, to encourage each other and to hold each other accountable.
As men we have largely undervalued our roles in both the marriage and our relationships with our children, and yet God’s Word tells us something that is vital to us. Did you know that we are the subject of God’s last words in the Old Testament and part of the angel’s announcement proclaiming the coming Messiah as the New Testament era unfolded?
Remember the Law of Moses, “My servant, which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers…” (Malachi 4:4-6).
He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, “to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,” and disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. (Luke 1:17).
This is God’s definition of true revival; it is, in part, the father’s involvement in his relationship with his wife and children. Indeed, his relationship with his family is the hinge upon which church and society turn. As men turn to the wisdom of the Scriptures, their hearts turn to their children creating the optimum spiritual condition for healthy families and marriages.
This has been the subject of our studies. We have looked at the environment we find ourselves in, and how these conditions have caused us to become passive. Our passivity has led to the slow destruction of our families, and society. It is for this reason that we return to the “old paths.” In order to return, it has been most helpful to learn the circumstances of the Garden of Eden, and the consequences of Adam’s Fall, and we concluded from Adam’s failure what the “Qualities of a Godly Man” are.
The Elder’s of the church want to invite each of you to join us as we continue our study and share insights, encouragement, and prayer with each other. The men of the church meet for prayer the second Saturday of the month at 7:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Followed by a breakfast at 8 AM for fellowship and then a bible study. In addition, quarterly after the study they work together to maintain the church.
