An update from Poland
Hello, from Poland. When I shared about my trip to Poland, I spoke about how things continually evolved when we arrived here last time. This has continued to be the case as God makes clear what our purpose is in being here and how we are to continue serving in Poland.
Th last several weeks, my partner and I spent a couple days trying to locate and lock down a cheaper rate for a hotel that would be funded and ran through LFBC. The rates I was getting back were higher than expected and the bigger problem was the availability was not there. A mid-June start date seemed to be more difficult. I called Mr. G (OSHU) to discuss flights for some of the volunteers. Remember our agreement with him was to help run his organization until the end of June. We then spoke about what to do past June with the existing hotel. OSHU has continued to raise more and more financial support. They have enough funds to extend the current rooms through July. I proposed that we, as a church would run the Hotel as we saw fit while they payed for the rooms. He quickly agreed to this. At their latest meeting with the support they are receiving it seemed possible to let this run for the foreseeable future. This allows us to spend the money that we have raised to pay for the tickets of the volunteers that we send, but more importantly to use that money to plant a church.

Pastor Daniel Gusev
Pastor Daniel was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1991. His family migrated to California, following his father’s parents who had arrived several years prior. Currently, Daniel has a Grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins still in Ukraine. Some have been able to make it out and are currently in Poland. Others had to stay in Ukraine because they are men who are of fighting age. Pastor Daniel connected with an organization called Operation Safe Harbor Ukraine based out of Lincoln, NE; it was this organization that had the idea of renting out hotel rooms to house refugees. Daniel had the opportunity to go to Poland last month and be a part of OSHU. During his visit, he helped build the structure and operations of the organization. Coming back after that trip, he realized that there was a way to be more effective for Christ by replicating the same process through the Church.
